Greg Childress owner of G. Alan’s Fine Jewelry on Midway Road will host an hour long radio show this Friday on WPSL 1590. The show will feature two local non-profit organizations: The Boys & Girls Clubs of St. Lucie County and HANDS, Inc.

Will Armstead, Executive Director of the BGC, will discuss plans for the Youth of the Year Celebration. He will provide insight into competition and what it takes to become a finalist. He will talk about this year’s candidates and provide an overview of the Boys & Girls Clubs.

Sydney Libeman, marketing director for HANDS, Inc will talk about the organization and their mission statement. They provide free primary care to qualified, low-income, uninsured, adult residents of St. Lucie County. They will discuss: why there is a need for a free clinic, services, Diabetes epidemic, Affordable Care Act and how it affects HANDS, how to qualify for services, how to volunteer and how to help keep the doors open.

This informative show will air at 10am as a public service that is sponsored by Childress. “People don’t know enough about these organizations and what they do,” stated Childress as his reason for hosting and funding the show. “They provide a great service to our community. I’m glad to help get them a little exposure.”
